Hello – I’m Dr. Press. Are YOU on Statin drugs to “lower your  Cholesterol“?  Have you ever asked  your doctor why that’s necessary? One can be sure they will tell you “prevent cardiovascular disease or stroke.”  But is the science there to say that Cholesterol causes cardiovascular disease? Stroke?  The answer is really, no!  Ever  heard of the “French paradox“. This is the confounding fact that  the French have the highest saturated fat diet in Western Europe and the LOWEST incidence of cardiovascular disease and stroke.  So what causes these diseases? And is Cholesterol at least involved?

The building blocks of proteins are called amino acids. Some are required for life and labeled “essential“.  Some are indifferent, and a few are actually toxic.  One such toxic amino acid is called homocysteine.  Its presence in your blood causes little sores to develop in the lining of your arteries (a tissue called the “intima”).  As these sores progress they become inflamed and then cholesterol plaques start forming at those sites.  Of course, if you have a genetic condition which causes your cholesterol to be really high, then its probably wise to reduce that too.

Thus, if you accomplish three things;  a.- keep your homocysteine levels really low;  and,  b.- keep your systemic levels of inflammation (C-reactive protein) also low;  and,  c.-  slightly increase your clotting time (pro time), which means safely and mildly thinning your blood; you should keep a pretty healthy cardiovascular system.  This, BTW is why taking aspirin helps prevent heart attacks;  i.e. because it thins your blood and reduces inflammation! But, after all aspirin is also a drug, and has effects like eating holes in your stomach lining.  So what’s really the safest course?

There are numerous means  available for natural physicians to lower your levels of homocysteine;  inflammation; thin your blood  (safely), and even reduce the cholesterol in the process.

At Academy Chiropractic Center, we can put you on a regimen consisting  of  a.- homocysteine blocker; b.- MSM or Wobenzyme, or another supplement, to reduce inflammation, and c.- Nattokinase to thin the blood.  Of course you can just take all these supplement yourself, but your doctor should be monitoring your blood chemistry and we can do that too.

BTW if you insist on taking some statin drug anyway, you MUST be supplementing with  Co-enzyme Q10 which is needed  for your cells to make energy and thus for life. ALL  statins drain your system of   CoQ10 and this is why they can all actually CAUSE congestive heart disease! So imagine! The drug your well meaning medical doctor is making you take to prevent a heart attack, could actually kill  you by weakening your heart along with all your other muscles too. This is why it is well known as a “Side effect” of statins that they can cause muscle cramps and other unpleasant symptoms.

  1. aspirin is a good anti-inflammatory still in use today. ‘-*

ASA (Aspirin) certainly is a good anti-inflammatory. It’s in fact the prototypical anti-inflammatory, and mild blood thinner. I was not disparaging ASA so much as saying that a combination of MSM and Nattokinase can accomplish the same end, without the gastro-intestinal complications that sometimes accompany an aspirin regimen.

  3. aspirin is great for reducing pain and inflammation just be careful with overdose though.”`

Well, there are several questions I would ask; is this only in some positions? Like lying on your arm, with it under your head? In which case this is really rather normal, or is it constant and position INdependent? How high is “slightly high”? If it’s bothering you, you should probably seek a professional opinion.
